Message	did you know these existed? Ebay 6.5" Adapters I used those, they are cheap and very well made. Most all car audio speakers (not including sub-woofers) are made for free air use. You can actually screw up the frequency response by putting free air speakers in enclosures. You will get better bass response though, which if you don't plan on using a sub-woofer, is a good idea. I used those adapters with 6.5" Infinity Reference speakers and I'm extremely happy with the results. No vibration noises, and the frequency response is fine. I don't need a lot of bass, I rarely listen to the stereo because I have such a fine motor and exhaust to listen too.
